With Brashear and Gaborik signed to contracts, as it stands today, the Rangers have about $13.7 million of cap space to work with. This is what should happen with that money if we want to be Stanley Cup contenders.
-Sign the RFA's. This is a reasonable amount for each RFA.
Zherdev-2 years $3.25million per yr.
Higgins-4 years $2 million per yr.

I just got back from vacation to see the horrid Kotalik signing. Sather just shot the Rangers in the foot (more like heart) with this move. That should have been used to sign a center, not an underachiever.
Now what should the dummy do? We need a center, but that doesn't get through his thick skull. I mean Kotalik has a lethal shot and will fit into the Torts system but...
